"The White House wants us to have a permanent commitment to Iraq. This is an Iraqi problem. President Bush got rid of Saddam Hussein and that was a great thing, but that could have been done in a very different way. But now that we're there we need to figure out how to leave. 80% of Iraqis want us to leave, and it's their country."

Where'd he get the 80% figure?

...from the same people who predicted John Kerry would win the presidency by a large margin.

Here is the one case in which I would endorse pulling the feeding tube.

LISA IS A TYRANT!!!

Pro-Life until the bitter end unless it is someone who committed a crime she feels worthy of state sponsored execution , or a political prisoner with views differing from hers

Re: howiedean

I've never said I was pro-life...ever. My comments have always been regarding situations.

Recap:

abortion: a crime unless you've been raped by a stranger
or a family member; mother's life in danger--can see it; lazy whore who uses it as birth
control is not a valid reason

capital punishment: criminal, bad choice, took someone else's
life------buh-bye loser

euthanasia: fine with me if you made it perfectly clear you
wanted it; killing an innocent person who can't
speak for herself because you want her out of
your life because you are either cruel, abusive,
or want her insurance money----sorry, not
acceptable

You are a big dork. And drunk, too, apparently.

So if you've been raped by a neighbor you know or your teacher you have to keep the baby.

Glad you've thought this through logically.

Re: howiedean

One woman was raped by someone before she had even consummated her marriage.

One child was destined to be an alcoholic womanizer.

One child was an aspiring artist and a great patriot.

Which child should have been aborted?

I hope you didn't guess Jesus or Churchill. Personally, I would have gone for Hitler, #3.

P.S. This has nothing to do with my stance on abortion, only that it shouldn't be dependant on the circumstances of the pregnancy, but rather the womans/mans (if both parents are involved) choice. Ok, so I guess it did have something to do with my stance on abortion.

Re: howiedean

Dean is paying dividends I never, ever hoped for.

Between Senator Kerry saying that American soldiers spend their time terrorizing children, and Chairman Dean saying that American soldiers can't win the war, and the antics of Peace Mother Sheehan the Democrats are positioning themselves for even greater failure.

Quote:
... Dean's declaration to a San Antonio radio station Monday that "the idea that we're going to win the war in Iraq is an idea which is just plain wrong."

The critics said that comment could reinforce popular perceptions that the party is weak on military matters and divert attention from the president's growing political problems on the war and other issues.

Democrats Fear Backlash at Polls for Antiwar Remarks >>

Notice that the dems are not concerned about the fact that this emboldens the terrorists and undermines our military forces, only that it might damage popular perceptions of the democrat party.
