High School Teachings
Apparently LC's kids science teacher is the smarterest dude in the whole wide world. I picked him up yesterday and he told me that his teacher told him about all of the bad things that are going to happen in Montana because of the recent hurricanes.
So I said what, like a little rain? No, we are going to have an EARTHQUAKE about 9.0 here and it could wipe everything out. Umm. HE ACTUALLY TOLD YOU THIS? OK, theres a few countries that would probably like to talk to him NOW about his earthquake predicting abilities. I wasn't aware that a high school science teacher was capable of such amazing things. THEN the kids tells me about how Mt. Ranier is gonna blow and we could all die, then it could happen in Yellowstone too. GLOOM AND DOOM, WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!! I was totally blown away. I proceeded to explain to him that even if all of those things COULD happen, doesn't mean they will. If you sat around and worried about all of the things that could possibly happen you'd never function at all. We *could* be driving down the highway and have all 4 tires just come apart and roll end over end into the river and drown. It *could* happen, but it probably won't. We talked about a lot of natural stuff that has happened, none of it wiped all everything and not everyone in the world died from any of it. I'm waiting to hear the next installment before I go to the school to have a private meeting with the idiot teacher.

Re: High School Teachings
Sandman, its not even that is liberal idiocy. Its just plain fucking stupid.
The liberal idiocy will be tonight at the traffic planning meeting to increase traffic flow near the UM campus. All the hippies will line up and say we should all ride bikes and walk because cars that use OIL are baaaaaddd. But they are PAVING OVER THE PARK!!! yeah, 10 feet of grass gone, deal with it.

You left out the part where all of this is George Bush's fault. Or is that tomorrow's lesson?

All the nerds in the Discover magazine have been forecasting a gigantic earthquake in that montana area for some time now. Which could trigger volcanic activity.

Re: High School Teachings
Some idiot from Pocatello thinks its a Japanese Mafia caused storm using a machine they got from the Ruskies, I'm off to link hunt. The gun toting hunters are about dead even with the hippies in Missoula, but they work and actually do stuff so tend to not make the meetings or newspapers as much.

Pave over the whole fucking thing and make it a parking lot so I have a place to park my gas guzzling SUV at school. Problem solved. |

Re: High School Teachings
The science guy is correct that it's likely going to happen EVENTUALLY. But yellowstone still has another 10,000 years or so. And Cali is closer on it's cycle for big quakes. Not only shouldn't you worry about every little thing that could possibly go wrong, but it's really pointless to worry about things of that nature where there's not a goddamn thing you can do about it.
Let the kid enjoy his highschool years. He can worry about that other bullshit after the hippies convert him and he's sitting in a tree to protect it.

HAhahahah. I can see your mundane imbecilic speeches in the break room. Dr. Shroomy McBowlcut. PhD in geothermal dynamics, geophysics, geo-restocking aisles 8-12. Expert in microwave entrees, Online seduction of purported women, cross coutry travel to get some ugly pussy because the local stuff won't even let you get a sniff of it. Man about town, owner of monthly bus pass including transfers. Posessor of 3 friends, 2 pairs of shoes, and 1 internet connection. Semi-witted 1 digit typist with an opinion on everything. You ARE the baddest ass in your breakroom, as long as Hector the ex-con isn't working your shift that day. The sky is the limit big boy. Unfortunately your reptile brain and amphibian looks will be the cement cargo that keep you on the runway for life. Thank God for government entitlement programs eh?

You're close. But I put in my two weeks at target. And I only have two friends.
