My iphones all work great, except for the one i drowned.

I just gave my nephews two iphone 3gs we had, 4 years old and still work great.

HTC Inspire. It worked great until the 2.3 update. It's been downhill from there.

If Apple ever loses their "we own this physical device even after you've bought it and want to control everything you do on it" attitude I might consider using one of their products. I don't even own an iPod. What I hate the most about the iPhone is the pretentiousness that seems to come packaged with it. People that have one aren't capable of just saying "my phone". It's always "my iPhone".


Also, what makes swiftkey so much better?

swiftkey's predictions are amazing. you'll end up touching the keyboard for only about 10-20% of the keystrokes you would need to type a sentence. as you type, predictions pop up above the keyboard. the more you type, the better it gets. sometimes it feels like it's reading your mind.

so you might type "h [hey] i [am] [going] [to] [the] s [store]"

that's only 9 keystokres for that whole sentence. swiftkey is the first thing that gets installed on a new device or after a wipe. that example probably doesn't make any sense unless you've used it, though.

Be sure and give it some time to learn your typing style. Once you've been using it awhile it really makes typing a snap. Here's the unlocked full version and it will auto-update. You need to have side-loading of non-market apps enabled.
