Whites appealed Katrina insurance more
NEW ORLEANS - Though poor and minority neighborhoods suffered the brunt of Katrina's fury, residents living in white neighborhoods have been three times as likely as homeowners in black neighborhoods to seek state help in resolving insurance disputes, according to an Associated Press computer analysis.
The analysis of Louisiana's insurance complaints settled in the first year after Katrina highlights a cold, hard truth exposed by Katrina's winds and waters: People of color and modest means, who often need the most help after a major disaster, are disconnected from the government institutions that can provide it, or distrustful of those in power.

Ummmm. Welllllllllllllllllll. There is no good or evil here. The issue is that they have to draw a line somewhere between flood insurance and homeowner's insurance. The line is pretty arbitrarily drawn, it pretty much has to be. Wherever you put it, there's a "common sense" argument for having it somewhere else. The problem is nobody reads the fucking policies until they have a loss, and by then they are bound by the arbitrary policy language in the contract and it's too late. Then if you're a nigger you say "Damn, the man is holdin me down and shit" and you steal a cracker's TV set. If you're a whitey, your attorney sues. All very ho hum, really. I would remind you only that homeowner's insurance is remarkably cheap given the odds that at some point in your life they will pay a major claim out for you. I would also remind you that you have the freedom to not have homeowner's insurance. Simply pay off your house, and take responsibility for your own risk. Ain't it a wonderful fucking country?

This am short version. But what about water from sky that turns into water on land? What then? What if it comes from a rain gutter system, pools on teh ground, and enters through basement door threshold seal? What if it am seeping through foundation due to heavy rain? HMMMM? What if it am driven by wind? What then Mr. smart guy?

All i know is that niggers stole my tv, and my insurance company replaced everything they took (except sentimental value items that couldn't be replaced, pocketwatch, knives, etc). Hella good thing to have replacement cost coverage. All I did was purchase the new items, send the adjuster a receipt, and he cut me a check. Good stuff for that claim. Mucho good.
