I don't think anybody is against you learning to shoot weapons. They are the premiere gun to own for many [insert ethnic group asshat name] around the world. As you mentioned, they're easy to produce and they work well in any environment.

nope, not really. he's into the idea that communism often sounds utopian but in practice it's almost a complete and total disaster to anyone who is envolved. he used to be more lefty back in the day but he's coming around as he gets older.

well we're all hoping so. his progress is very very slow at this point, but it's been getting pretty steady. he's finally reading and writing at an 8th grade level, and we've been told the chapel hill has a fantastic special ed program for grad school.

with a live-in nurse and a team of government subsidized tutors he should be able to accomplish his dreams.

FWIW I'm an engineer and I "admire" the AK because it's a fucking kick-ass assault rifle. VERY easy to use, strip, clean, reassemble, etc. and it's not nearly as finicky as our variant the M16/AR15. Don't get me wrong, I loves my ARs (have 3 of them), but that $300 WASR I picked up throws lead like their's no tomorrow.

RE the other crap, Mal, I was just fucking with you for repeatedly calling Shorty's buddy "ghey" for wanting what he wants. And, yes, the gun laws are ridiculous and I'm sure you know I agree with those points 100%.

Shorty, I wouldn't take too much of the ball busting too seriously, I really didn't read it that way when it was building up. Again, that Military Gun Supply shop is a very good connection for anything like this. Have your buddy call and talk to the owner or one of his workers, they're good guys (from what I've experienced anyway). Also, as I mentioned, I'd be happy to go take a couple pics and PM or post them so your buddy can see what he's thinking of buying if he gets that far.
