Government doesn't create jobs. Remember that wonderful stimulus bill that we were promised would create thousands of shovel ready jobs? It created a couple positions in government where they shovel more bullshit and that's it. Cost us between 700 billion and 1.5 trillion depending on which figures you believe.
Minimum wage is for minimum skill and effort. McDonald's is not a career opportunity unless you plan to be high up the chain like franchise owners or regional management. High school kids and bored old people work those jobs. You want more money? Make yourself more valuable. The government has no business telling private industry how much to pay someone.
Republicans have offered alternatives to obamacare for a few years now. Know?what's stopping them? Lack of a veto proof majority and Mr. Stompy Feet in the white house with his fucking pen and phone.
