Did you want them to pass a pre-emptive law saying the Democrats can't pass a law in the future outlawing offshore drilling?
How would that work exactly? How would you word it, making a law permanent in such a way?
I don't disagree with your underlying sentiment, but I don't see how the Republicans could have stopped this. Pass a law saying the expired law has to stay expired? Then the Democrats could have just passed a law saying that law is hereby expired....
It's all bullshit.
