Oh, this is a lovely handbasket, I wonder where we're going...
Iran has teh nuke.
Messicans are running rampant. Gas is gonna be $5 a gallon and we are STILL in need of more refineries. Howie Mandell has a hit TV show. Debt am spiraling out of control. Fgagot governor of OR will probably get re-elected and wants state sales tax in which case I'll have to move. Feel free to add your own. I'm gonna be at teh bar. |

Re: Oh, this is a lovely handbasket, I wonder where we're going...
the price of gas relative to a day's pay is relatively the same as it always has been
Iran has enriched uranium and i think their whacko president will be dead before they get a bomb and a means to deliver it. You're allowed to change channels. You don't have to watch Howie. Pay your bills stop buying so much shit. If you move go east. North is canada and south doesnt want you. My own: The world gets better and better at a faster and faster pace, all of the time, and has been for 100,000 years. technology is improving lives at an incredible rate. "Poor" people in the US have high definition tv. People considered malnourished in the US get over 1000 calories per day. We enjoy some of the greatest political freeedoms on the planet. In october 2004, during elections, the #1 movie in the country was a film that's sole purpose was to humiliate and ridicule our leader, for profit. And nothing happened. As much as i hate Michale Moore and his films, that to me represents one of the most incredible things about living in this country. 1/3rd of the earth's population lives without full access to electricity. I'm not worried about "messicans" running rampant. |

I'm making plans to relocate to Scotland, home of my ancestors.
That, or Italy. I think Scotland would be better---more whitebreadish. We are witnessing the fall of Rome...aka the USA. Seriously...I'm with Mal...we're done as a nation. When the Democrats take over, it literally is over. End of Days. We're fucked good. |

BTW I'm headed to Central or South America when I retire. The American expatriate communites in such places are pretty decent areas in which to hang out. |

Health care crisis batters both state, illegal immigrants (MN)
State health programs funded $37 million in medical care for illegal immigrants in 2005, compared with only $18.6 million in 2000, according to the Minnesota Department of Human Services. Those costs just scratch the surface. They only account for people who truthfully disclosed their status. A legislative audit, expected to be released today, will consider among other things how often illegal immigrants obtain public health benefits without disclosing their status. The state costs also don't include $120 million a year in uncompensated care provided by Minnesota's hospitals. Illegal immigrants are responsible for an unknown portion of those costs, which are ultimately paid through federal tax dollars and rising health insurance premiums. -snip- It is only taxpayer money - paid by those silly and racist legal citizens of America. I wonder how many teachers, schools or pot holes could be hired/fixed with that kind of money for the state... key rist, and that's just Minnesooda >> . . |
